Seek God's Wisdom "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him." James 1:5
My message today is for all fathers to seek wisdom from God in being the head of your family. Without this wisdom, a father will not know the things to teach his children, and the way to instruct them. When you know the word of God, and apply it to your family, you will know the right things to teach your children, and the way to instruct them to follow God and fulfill his plan for you and your family. Without the wisdom of God, no man has the knowledge to manage his family well as God intended him to. But with the wisdom of God, a father will be able to teach his children the right paths to follow, and provide them with the training and direction to lead them in the right way. A father cannot do this alone, as the challenges are too great with the temptations and evil that will face our families. So many fathers are trying today to manage their families without the wisdom of God, and we are seeing the result. Broken homes, divorces, abortions, drugs, alcohol and sexual immorality are just some of the challenges that a father faces in being able to manage his family. I believe all of these are things that are caused by the father not having the presence of God in his family, and by him not having the wisdom and knowledge to follow the commands of God. To have a successful family, all fathers need to know the wisdom the Bible teaches us, and put it into practice in his family. We need to teach our children wisdom; first by getting God's truth into their heads and hearts, and then seeing that they use this wisdom in their everyday lives.
