God Will Provide
"And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. Luke 12:29-31
So many people go through life worrying about where they are going to get their next paycheck, what they are going to eat, what clothes to buy, why their relationships are going bad and many other things that occupy their thoughts. Jesus tells us in the scripture above that we should not spend our time worrying about these things, but should spend it seeking the spiritual benefits of the kingdom rather than the material goods of the world. Jesus warns us of the dangers of always having our thoughts on acquiring riches and material goods throughout the Bible, and tells us that when we have our minds on these things we cannot expect Him to bless us fully. When our quest for wealth begins to possess our every thought, this becomes our God. God warns us that we can have no God other than Him, and that the pursuit of money can destroy us. It is when we begin to get our focus off God, and on the accumulation of material wealth that so many families lose control. When we have faith and trust in God to watch over us and depend upon Him to provide us with our needs, we will not have worry and stress. We may not have the biggest house or biggest car, but our lives will be worry and stress free. God will provide everything we need when we trust in Him. I would encourage each of you to search your lives to see if you are letting the material things of this world become your God, instead of depending upon the real God for your needs.
