"The man said, the woman you put here with me-she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it. The woman said, the serpent deceived me, and I ate." Genesis 3: 12-13
The above scripture describes how prone man is to put the blame for his transgressions on others. From the beginning, even in the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve were not willing to accept the blame for their own sins, but were trying to find someone else to blame. This is the way that so many Christians are today; we are not willing to take the blame for our own sins and the things we do wrong. We blame our bosses, our neighbors, our schools, our governments and even our husbands and wives when things do not go as we expect them to go, when so much of the cause for our troubles is due to our own actions and faults. We need to be able to see through all the strife and trouble in our own life, and begin to take the responsibility for our own actions. Just because someone else has done something that may harm us or cause us to lose our peace, does not mean that we have to change our behavior. We must not let the actions of others around us damage our walk with God in any way. There are many things we encounter all throughout our day that is there to rob us of our peace and joy. Just because someone is rude to us in the grocery store, or someone blows their horn at us in traffic should not rob us of our peace. This is Satan trying to influence us and get our focus off of doing the things that are good. If we spend our time struggling with our problems and difficulties we will not be focusing our attention on God and doing His will. Nothing good is ever accomplished when we have a negative attitude. We must be happy and positive to have God working in our lives to the fullest extent possible. God expects us to live our lives in a way that is pleasing to Him, and if we are distracted by the things of this world our minds will be drawn away from doing His will. Only we are responsible for our own actions, and putting the blame on others does not prevent us from doing right in our own lives. When we stand before God one day to accept our judgment we will not be able to blame others for our conduct and actions. God will only look at our deeds and the way we lived our lives and will then pass judgment on us. So begin today to evaluate the things that are going on in your lives, and assume responsibility for them and change your habits and your attitudes if you need to. Prepare yourself each morning for things that will confront you, that will try to rob you of your peace, but stand firm against Satan and his attacks, as only you can control your actions, and only you are responsible for the way you live your life.
