God's Promise
"For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ." 2nd Corinthians 1:20 I can remember when our children were little and how literally they took our words. I would say something like, "Tomorrow we will take you to the movie," or "This weekend we will go to the beach," and the children assumed that is what we were going to do. But then something happened that prevented us from doing what we had said that we would do, and you could see their reaction. "But you promised", they would say and would be naturally frustrated. They were right to be disappointed and frustrated as we had promised and had not lived up to our promise. God, however, makes us many promises throughout the Bible and always keeps His promises. There is nothing that comes up that causes God to break His promise, no last minute phone calls that changes His plans, no other forgotten obligation that has to be met, there is nothing that keeps God from breaking His promise to us. All of us however make many promises during our lives, and as good as our intentions were, there will be situations and circumstances where we will break our promises, but with God we don't have to worry as He does not break His promises to us. Of all the promises God makes to us, the greatest promise and most important one is that we can have an eternal life by asking Him into our hearts to be our Lord and Savior. This is the only promise that we will ever need, and is the only promise that will never change no matter what situations and circumstances we face in life, this promise will provide all that we need. God's promise is a "Yes" and a promise that will bless and enrich your life.
